Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa UK

The Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa category is for migrants who wish to join, establish or takeover one or more businesses in the United Kingdom. You must have access to at least £50,000 investment funds (if you’re in the UK on a Tier 1 (Post-study worker) visa or as a student) or at least £200,000   to apply for a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa. Your funds must be held in one or more regulated financial institutions and it must be free to spend on business in UK.

You can apply under the entrepreneur category if you are:

•   Applying for entry clearance as Tier 1 Entrepreneur

•   You are in the United Kingdom and want to switch into Tier 1 Entrepreneur

•   You are already in the United Kingdom as an entrepreneur and want to apply for an extension of your Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa

Tier 1 Investor Visa UK

The Tier 1 (Investor) category is for high-net-worth individuals who want to make a substantial financial investment in the UK. Your application will be assessed on your ability to invest at least £2,000,000 in the UK.

With a Tier 1 Investor visa, you can:

•   invest £2,000,000 or more in UK government bonds, share capital or loan capital in active and trading UK registered companies

•   work or study

•   apply to settle after 2 years if you invest £10 million

•   apply to settle after 3 years if you invest £5 million

You can’t:

•   invest in companies mainly engaged in property investment, property management or property development

•   work as a professional sportsperson or sports coach get public funds

Tier 1 Exceptional Talent

The Tier 1 (Exceptional talent) visa category is for people who are recognised internationally as world leaders or potential world-leading talent in the fields of science and the arts, and who wish to work in the UK.

There is a limit of 1,000 places every year on this route. The Home Office will provide you with a Unique Reference Number if there are places available within the limit for the selected Designated Competent Body. You can then make an application to the Home Office, together with the Unique Reference Number and supporting documents.

Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur

The Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur category caters to those wishing to develop a business idea immediately upon graduating, and who have been identified by UK universities as having developed world-class innovative or entrepreneurial skills, but who are not at the time of their graduation in a position to meet the full requirements of the Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) route.

Tier 1 Highly Skilled Worker (General)

You can no longer apply or extend your Tier 1 Highly Skilled Worker (General) visa category.

You may be able to apply to settle once you’ve been in the UK for 5 years. You can apply to settle as a Tier 1 (General) worker until 6 April 2018.
